Botox® Cosmetic is the only FDA-approved treatment for the temporary reduction of moderate to severe worry lines, frown lines, laugh lines, crow’s feet and other dynamic wrinkles. It requires no recovery time and causes little discomfort.
Botox® blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines, thus relaxing the muscles so they do not contract. After the treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected. The treatment is quick and minimally invasive with the doctor making a few tiny injections into the desired muscle area.
Within days of your treatment, you may see a noticeable improvement that can last up to four months. If you decide not to continue with Botox® treatments, the area treated will eventually go back to its pretreatment appearance.
